OLPH SPECIAL PROJECT - SCIENCE PROGRAM FOR GRADES K-5

The Foss Pathways program is an active learning science program with 3 modules per grade on life, earth, and physical science. The Foss program blends engaging hands-on science investigations with science writing, language development strategies, reading informational texts, online technology, outdoor experiences, and research-based assessment strategies.

The Foss Pathways resources include the following in print and digital formats.

• Investigation Guide and comprehensive teacher support materials 
• Science resources books for students 
• Access to interactive online learning (ThinkLink)
• Durable student equipment kits
• Spanish teaching and learning resources

Curriculums are as follows.

• 1st - Changes in the Sky, Sound & Light, and Plants & Animals
• 2nd - Water & Landforms, Solids & Liquids, and Insects & Plants
• 3rd - Water & Climate, Motion, and Structures of Life
• 4th - Soils, Rocks, & Landforms, Energy, Senses & Survival
• 5th - Earth & Sun, Mixtures & Solutions, and Living Systems
