Welcome back to our returning members and a warm welcome to our new members who recently joined. I hope your summer was enjoyable and restful.
Even though summer was seemingly quiet, many of our members were hard at work. Sincere thanks to the following Board members. Marlyn Conrow and Marti Burke took a leadership role in the much-needed bathroom renovation at the church. Marlyn, Gloria Erdman, Lourdes Stokes and their tireless committee showed up every week to clean and care for our beautiful sacristy.
The faithful Beverly Marroy and Debbie Begert vigilantly maintained the First Friday Adoration. Aurelia Corbitt, world-class Corresponding Secretary, continued her gift of correspondence. Lisa Muck kept communication up to date with her informative emails. Our prayer chain members, led by Jennifer Siguenza, kept you and your families in constant prayer. Gina Rischard put together our paper directory. And finally, Ana Yoder did an amazing job with our membership drive. If you know anyone interested in joining the Altar Society, please connect them with Ana. Regarding the membership renewal this year, please accept my apology for the glitch we had on the website. On Sunday September 8th, the Altar Society will host the Parish Community Donut Sunday. This event allows parish members to see the multiple opportunities to get involved in the Christ the King community. Thank you to Jacqueline Mauer for organizing this event. Altar Society members can pick up their directories at the Altar Society table during the event. Later this month, we will honor our board and committee members with a fall Mass and installation of officers on September 25th at 10 a.m. The rest of our events are listed on the website under Upcoming Events.
A special thank you to Marti Burke, last year’s president, who has been incredibly kind and helpful in my transition to President. I look forward to an exciting year and many inspiring Altar Society events this year.
