Sign up your family/group to light the Advent wreath at one of the following Masses during Advent this year! We need one family/group per Mass. Please arrive ten minutes before your scheduled Mass to meet Father in the Sacristy for instructions and introductions. Father will provide a short passage for one person to read from the Ambo while the other member(s) of your group light the Advent candle(s). Please sit in or near the front pew, on the right side as you face the Altar. Your group will also bring the gifts following the offering. Go back to the back of the church during the Prayers of the Faithful for the ushers to prepare you to bring the gifts to the altar. Questions? Contact: Camille Fournier at camille75219@gmail.com OR Mary Smith at smithfamily.dallas@sbcglobal.net “The Advent wreath is a cherished tradition observed during the weeks leading up to Christmas and serves as a spiritual compass on our journey in preparation for the nativity. The circular shape of the wreath represents eternity, reminding us of God's infinite love and presence in our lives. The greenery used to decorate it symbolizes everlasting life and hope given to us by Jesus. The lighting of the candles sequentially each week provides us with a tangible way to mark the passing of time and encourages us to reflect on the themes of hope, peace, joy and love.” |
